January 2011

  Pinewood Derby

Pack 422 held it's 3rd annual Pinewood Derby at Chapel Hill Academy. Trophies were awarded for the 3 fastest cars per Den, the 3 fastest cars for the Pack, and 2 for design. In addition each scout received a Participation Patch, and a certificate for unique accomplishment from our Den Cheif Mr. Isaac A.  Pack 422 will be sending 18 of our Scouts to the Lake Minnetonka District Pinewood Derby at Dick's Sporting Goods in Minnetonka on April 16.

December 2010

We entertained the residents of Summerwood in Chanhassen with Christmas musical selections sung and played by the scouts, and reading the Christmas story form the Bible.  After our show we enjoyed cookies with the residents.

November 2010

Our October Pack meeting theme was "Climb Every Mountain".  The Pinewood Derby kits were handed out, and the top salesmen for the Wreath sale received medallions.  Our parents received a Friends Of Scouting Appeal. Gary Hegenes showed pictures from his adventures while climbing Mountain Kilimanjaro.

October 2010

Pack 422 started a Lion Cubs group for Kindergarten boys.  Their first activity was a visit to the Chanhassen Fire Station.

Our October Pack event was a hayride at Rock Isle Farm in Waconia.  Prior to the hayride we fueled up on a meal of gourmet hotdogs roasted over a camp fire.  After the hayride we formally retired 2 US flags during a campfire ceremony. The weather was great and it was a beautiful night.

September 2010 Rocket Launch

The Pack blasted off and got into a new year of scouting at our Rocket Launch.


4th of July Parade 2010

Members of Pack 422 marched in the 4th of July Parade through downtown Chanhassen. Our entry included Scout "push cars" and a statue to   The crowd was treated to candy handed out by the adult leaders and the scouts.  A great time was had by all.

  

June 2010

We attended the BSA Chippewa Valley Air Show in Eau Clairie Wisconsin. We got wet but had a good time. The highlight was seeing the Blue Angles precision flight team in action.

 

May 2010

Our pack attended StarCamp in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Scouting in America.  Over 10,000 scouts from across the Twin Cities took part in activities, camped, and attended a evening program.

April 2010

We attended the first ever Saturday Twins game to be played at the new Target Field.  The weather was great and the Twins won!

We also held an "Egg Drop" in the parking lot at CHA. Scouts packed a fresh egg inside a box.  The box was tossed from a top of a tire truck ladder.  If the egg survived the scout won a small prize.
