Pen   Join Pack 422

Instructions for joining Pack 422 vary depending upon your current status. (New Scout, Registered Scout, Adult Volunteer Leader)  Note: Different forms are required.  Follow the directions below based on you particular situation.

 Membership Fee

The total membership fee fro boys who join our Pack will be $35 for 2010.  This fee does not cover the full cost of your membership. More than $15 is paid on your behalf by the Pack from the proceeds of our annual Wreath Sale.

In addition if you want to receive an optional copy of the magazine Boys Life please add $12. If you have (2) boys in Scouts, save your family $12 by only ordering (1) copy of Boys Life.  Your kids may share it, and you save $12.

Example: If you want Boys Life your fee is $47 per year. If not your fee is $35 per year.

The actual cost to run the Pack is much higher than the registration fees we collect. The balance is paid from the proceeds of our annual Fall Wreath Fund Raiser, gifts from families, and Friends Of Scouting.  Our average programming costs per scout over the last 2 years has been $138.

Member families are expected to purchase their son's Class I uniform shirt.

The Pack will provide the book, neckerchief, slide, parents pins, and so on. 

The Pack provides registered scouts with a Class II uniform (Tee Shirt) at no charge for active or outdoor activities that are not appropriate for our nicer class I uniform shirts.

We want make sure every boy who wants to can join Pack 422.  We have a Scholarship account to assist families with financial need. Families who benefit from our Scholarship fund are expected to participate in the Wreath Sale and generate a minimum of $200 in sales per scout in their family.  Registration Forms For Youth Members

Scouts must turn in (2) forms.  The Youth Application may be down loaded from this web site, printed, and turned in to the Den Leader or Cub Master.  Or you may fill in the form on-line and submit it electronically.

The Health Form can be filled out on-line.  But it needs to be printed and turned in to the Cub Master or Den Leader.  Health forms are NOT collected by the Northern Star Council.

 For Boys New To Cub Scouts

Email the Cub Master to get assigned to a Den.  Then complete your registration forms and  registration fee to your Den Leader or any Pack 422 Adult Leader.  Checks should be made out to Pack 422.

Check with your Den Leader regarding uniform requirements and dates for the next meetings.

 For Scouts Transferring into 422 From Another Pack

If you are currently chartered (registered) with BSA at another Pack, and want to transfer into our Pack (422) follow these instructions. 

Make sure you first communicate with an Adult leader at the Pack you are currently chartered with.  A portion of your current year membership fee should transfer into 422, and they will want to update their internal membership records.

Return forms to your Den Leader with a check to Pack 422 for $1. Check with your Pack 422 Den Leader regarding possible uniform changes for Den and Pack numerals.  Bring your current Cub Scout to next Den meeting.

 For Adult Volunteer Leaders

Email the Cub Master to discuss your position. Your Fee is $10 per year which covers your medical and liability insurance with BSA. Make your check out to Pack 422.

All Adult Volunteer Leaders must submit the required membership applications and medical forms shown below.

  3. New 2009 Annual Medial Form

Return all forms to the Cub Master or Committee Chair with your $10 check made out to Pack 422. Your application must be approved and signed by the Pack Committee or Institutional representative, then approved by the District Executive. This includes a background check.
